About the Author
Ken Kaser taught business and marketing courses in Nebraska and Texas high schools for 30 years. He currently serves as the Director for the Event Management and Sales Certificate program at Conrad Hilton College at the University of Houston. Ken has authored or co-authored seven books; written national, state, and local curriculum; served in many professional leadership roles; and earned numerous teaching awards at the national, state, and regional levels.

Dotty Boen Oelkers is a sports and entertainment author, educator, and enthusiast. Discovering, interviewing, and writing about the interesting people who market sports and entertainment is her passion. Dotty has written three books, co-authored one other, and contributed to numerous other books. She began her career in retail management, is a former Marketing Education teacher, Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director, and has served as a consultant regarding CTE Administration in school districts across Texas.

Hard to write this review because this is a textbook and most of the checkbox items do not apply. Was really glad to get the updated version of this book. Will save me a lot of time for my SEM class. (Have been using the 2005 version of this book and looking up all the stats myself)

Great book! Great Pictures!

I'm looking for another copy of this book right now since mine is rather worn out. That's just because it's a great book. It has storyboards of key scenes, and great behind the scenes pictures of preproduction, and production. If you liked the movie, you'll love this behind the scenes book!

Beck Burton, Rachael and Baby Chaz

Summary: Beck Burton is the youngest Burton brothers and the hot head of the bunch. As the book begins, we are introduced to Rachael St. Martin and find out that over 2 years ago, Rachael strutted around the ring wearing very little as the “ring girl”. Beck and Rachael were attracted to each other and Beck took her to Fiji for 2 weeks. They fell hard for each other. But after the trip, Beck’s anger flared and he actually made a hole in the wall he hit. Rachael left and Beck was never able to find her even with a PI, but, it is very hard for him to get her out of his mind, unless he is fighting or with beautiful women on his arm.

Rachael was now returning to find Beck because the son, Chaz, that Beck does not know about is very sick and needs Beck’s help. Beck is very angry because she took off without saying anything and kept his son from him. As he begins to raise his voice, Rachael and Chaz both have a reaction to his anger. She backs up and Chaz begins to cry. Beck’s family, who is in the same room, takes the baby and Beck and Rachael begin their one of many discussions about their past and what Chaz needs.

Rachael explains that she only came back to see if Beck or one of his siblings is a match for a bone marrow transplant that Chaz needs, or he would die. As they wait for the tests to come back, Rachael explains that her father use to hit her mom and her and that she swore that she would never live that way again, nor allow Chaz to live with a angry father. Beck’s family reinforces that Beck should think before he opens his mouth and work on himself and a possible relationship with Rachael and his son.

When the same attraction Beck and Rachael had before and never went away, they both decide to work on a relationship. Of course, there are challenges, and Beck’s reaction to some situation, causes the entire commitment to be challenged. Beck says he is sorry each time, but, so did Rachael’s father. However, what is not spoken is that Beck never hits anyone, unless it is during a MMA fight.

It turns out that Mason is the best match, so the procedure was completed and the entire Burton clan took turn staying with Chaz.
Can Beck and Rachael find a HEA? Does Baby Chaz get better? You must read to find out.

Issues: The one problem that I had with this book was that they were teaching Chaz to “hit” Beck if he got loud and angry. I don’t believe that teaching a child to hit to correct an adult or anyone would create a healthy environment. What would Chaz be like when he grew up and decided to hit everyone to correct them.

The Fighter's Secret Child is a heartwarming reunion story that leads to the creation of a loving family.

Rachel is willing to do anything for her child, even if that means facing the one man that she left behind. Beck never understood why Rachel disappeared. He thought they had something special. When she reappears unexpectedly with a son that looks just like him, he does not know what to make of it. Rachel and Beck have to make peace with the heartache of the past if they want to have a future together. I did not know what to expect from this story going into it. Estranged lovers and a secret child facing health issues all mixed in with a hint of MMA. Yet it worked. Leslie North did a beautiful job of pulling at the heartstrings and reuniting two people to stubborn to admit that they need the balance that each receives from the other. The Fighter's Secret Child is a heartwarming reunion story that leads to the creation of a loving family. Received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

reunion and loyalty

I received this free for my honest review. This story pulls at your heart strings for the love of a mum Rachel whose son is sick, she has to face his father Beck Burton who doesn't even know about him. Rachel left after a yelling match knowing she could never bring a child up the same way she had been and thought it best to disappear, Beck spent months searching for her to apologise and wanted to tell her she was the one for him, now she needs his help because him and his family are the only hope her little boy has of being well. In this story you catch up with previous characters and the family bond is lovely, you have all the hotness and romance, this is a great read and the series gives you knowledge of everyone in it.

He is a writer of both fiction and non-fiction and has had work published in encyclopaedias, popular magazines and articles in Apollon, the Journal of Psychological Astrology, which was published from 1998 to 2001. John currently works as an astrology consultant and as a tutor for the Centre for Psychological Astrology. He is the creator of their highly successful online Foundation and Intermediate courses in psychological astrology. He has lectured at many astrological conferences in the UK and US. He contributed a chapter on psychological astrology to the book Astrology: The New Generation, published by Flare Publications. John is a member of the Astrological Association and a fellow of the Association of Professional Astrologers. He was the editor of The Astrological Journal, the international journal of the Astrological Association, from 2008 to 2013. John was born and lives in London where he runs his astrological consultancy and looks after his family and crazy dog.

Wise, sensitive, and fearless

This is the book Liz Greene would have written if she had written a book on relationships. John Green was a student of hers. His book is wise, sensitive, insightful, the best and the most useful of several books I have read on relationship astrology. Yes, I know, Liz Greene did write a book on relationships (Relationships and How to Survive Them) but it focused on the composite chart rather than on relating one chart to the other. John's book does this. It takes one far beyond cookbook interpretations of cross aspects and explains how two people relate psychologically, how they really affect one another. This book helped me reach a higher level of understanding and I highly recommend it to any student of relationship astrology.

"Do You Love Me" clarified many things about relationships for me. His sensitivity and understanding in regards to helping others get to the core of relationships is outstanding. I couldn't put it down so I ordered the kindle version also. In my humble opinion, a must have for every astrologer or student.

Such understanding becomes more exciting as one looks at the link between learning and productivity.
Organizational Learning: Creating, Retaining and Transferring Knowledge describes and integrates the results of research on factors explaining organizational learning curves and the persistence and transfer of productivity gains acquired through experience. Chapter One provides an overview of research on organizational learning curves. Chapter Two introduces the concept of organizational "forgetting" or knowledge depreciation. Chapter Three discusses the concept of organizational memory. Chapter Four argues that analyzing small groups provides understanding at a micro level of the social processes through which organizations create and combine knowledge. Chapter Five describes results on knowledge transfer. Chapter Six discusses various tensions and trade-offs in the organizational learning process.

Excellent for both teaching and research

To my knowledge, Linda Argote presents the first multi-level treatment of organizational knowledge and learning. Other authors seem to have chosen to focus their analyses on either knowledge or learning - or, limited their assessments to the individual, group, or organizational level of analysis. Organizational Learning: Creating, Retaining and Transferring Knowledge provides a more comprehensive and integrative approach. Some authors would argue that knowledge and learning are modern discoveries. Prof. Argote provides an evenhanded assessment of what is new, and what is supported by decades of past research.
I believe this book is appropriate for anyone wanting to understand the basis of our beliefs regarding organizational knowledge and learning. I have just finished using this book as background for a paper on knowledge and virtual teams. I also will be using sections in my MBA course on Organizational Design.

A tremendous achievement

Linda Argote not only summarizes what is know about organizational learning but also integrates her own creative research into the mix. Her research on pizza franchises is legendary, and in this book she shows why. Using innovative methods in shipyards, truck factories, airplane factors, pizza shops, and elsewhere, Argote derives propositions and puts them to the test.
I particularly liked her discussion of organizational memory and forgetting. What a great notion -- organizations CAN forget things! -- and Argote shows just how quickly that can happen.
This book belongs on the shelf of every scholar and manager interested in how organizations learn (and forget).
