This book shows you how to win, the way most amateurs win in weekend tournaments. The grind it out round by round style. Occasionally a flashy combination, but usually improving your position move by move.

You Should have commented the entire game.

Lets use an example here. There may be a 50 move game that is well annotated until you reach the last 20 moves. Then there's no commentary on that last twenty moves. It was as if they were in a hurry to get the entire game in. I wish they would have made comments on the entire game. Not the first 30 moves. Of the games I looked at they were all the same. Very little commentary at the end of each game.

Do Not Buy, Waste of Time and Money

The back cover reads "Here are 6 characteristics of and [sic] Alpha Male," followed by eight bullet points. I should have known then. It should also have been a clue that, "Jack Landry" has no "About the author" or any other qualifications listed anywhere in the book. Additionally, the book opens up with a disclaimer, letting you know that, basically, there were good intentions when writing this book, but the author/publisher is under no obligation to prove or support any claims made within.

This book is utter horses***. Seemingly written by a teenager, this "book" seems to be a watered-down summary of several other books within the "manification help and support" genre, and over the course of 100 size-20 font pages (so using a normal font it would probably clock in around 50 pages), blows through several topics without ever going more than surface deep, and certainly not using any sort of research or third-party support to reinforce any of the authors opinions.

It is mind-blowing to me that this book has mostly 4 and 5 star reviews. Mind-blowing. Vanity Fair probably is a better authority on "alpha males."

Tl;dr-- Save your money. You could get the same (or better) experience by watching youtube videos. 100% waste of a book.

What an interesting book!

What an interesting book! Many Alpha Male books are out of the market, many provide basic ideas and some is just misleading the reader's about its real meaning. For men’s out there, if you really want to know how to be a true Alpha Male, then this is the book that has the most accurate information. After reading this book, I can guarantee you, the feeling of being anxious at parties or being shy around people will leave you alone. Be ready to transform your life in no time! It needs your action and the required knowledge on this book. So much worth recommending book.

About the Author

Tom and Chaundel Holladay have three children and two grandchildren and have served together at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, for over twenty years.

Tom, in addition to his pastoral leadership and weekend teaching ministries, is a part of Saddleback’s ministry of training church leaders around the world and produces a weekly podcast through the Bible at drivetimedevotions.com He is author of The Relationship Principles of Jesus and, with Kay Warren, Foundations: 11 Core Truths to Build Your Life On.

Kay Warren cofounded Saddleback Church with her husband, Rick Warren, in Lake Forest, California. She is a passionate Bible teacher and respected advocate for those living with HIV & AIDS, orphaned and vulnerable children, as well as for those affected by a mental illness. She founded Saddleback's HIV & AIDS Initiative. Kay is the author of Choose Joy: Because Happiness Isn't Enough, Say Yes to God and coauthor of Foundations, the popular systematic theology course used by churches worldwide. Her children are Amy and Josh, and Matthew who is in Heaven; she has five grandchildren.

A Solid Foundation

Saddleback Community Church gets a lot of criticism stating that it is too "seeker sensitive" and therefore implying that they water down or distort the truth. This resource is one example of how that isn't the case. The doctrinal studies found in the Foundations study are some ofthe best that I have seen in years. I have used these in small groups as well as adapted these for large group. These studies provide exactly what they advertise - Solid faoundations on which to build your life.

Excellent study for both new and long-time Christians!

My husband and I were participants when our church used "Foundations" for a mixed-group Bible study. The group included college students, single adults, married adults, senior adults, new believers, and long-time Christians. "Foundations" is one of the most dynamic and informative studies we have ever experienced. It covers every major Biblical truth/doctrine from Creation to the Second Coming. The format encourages and stimulates discussion, but keeps everyone focused on what scripture has to say about each topic and how it relates to daily living. We enjoyed many lively (but amiable!) discussions as we shared comments, questions, experiences, and opinions. We all came to realize that regardless of our age, or level of maturity in Christ, forming a Christian world-view is vital to keeping our balance in today's world. Having a basic knowledge of scriptural truth/doctrine helps us understand life from God's point of view and gives us the tools we need to make good choices and decisions in everyday life. Unlike many study books that are discarded after the study is completed, the Foundations Participant's Guide remains a useful reference to review and continue to expand on each of these essential truths.

This material is wonderful for the local church. It helps people understand the foundations of our faith without getting so technical or theological that they loose interest in the first few minutes.
I have used this material in both large and small group settings and it is excellent.

Excellent for: Beginners & those considering or planning to use Shopify but do not already have an account.
Great for: Shopify subscribers who are in the process of "set-up" or those who are new to Ecommerce in general.
Ok for: Those researching new ideas to improve existing Shopify online stores.
Decent for: Bathroom reading material (advanced Shopify users).
Poor for: Those with existing knowledge in programming language or web developers.

Bottom line- it all depends on what level of information is needed. Otherwise this is a very basic "how-to" (which the majority of info presented in the book can be found within Shopify's own blog and/or help sections).

Don't spend your money.

Glorified sales pitch for using Shopify. I bought it hoping that it would show how to actually set up a site, add items for sale, etc. It does not.

All the info in this book is available for free on the Shopify website.

This is a good book on how to run a shopify store. However most of all the information is also availble on the shopify web site and shopify also has reps who help their clients This book is a decent read for someone without a shopify account who is just exploring what they have to offer and how to go about it.
